Redefining Dementia

Just as Person Centred Universe’s educational and consultation work, the aim of the Redefining Dementia Podcast is to strive toward a better world for those affected by dementia. When consuming resources or media about dementia, the focus is often on the challenges, stigma and fear that may accompany a diagnosis of dementia. This podcast seeks to shift that narrative to focus on and celebrate living well with dementia and what that means for caregivers as well. Through the sharing of stories,
resources and helpful life experiences, the podcast will look to connect with the audience to provide helpful and meaningful takeaways.

Daphne Noonan

Daphne has twenty years of experience working in a variety of roles in long-term care in Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

At Person Centred Universe she provides transformational leadership coaching and other consulting services, develops new programs, and is a sought-after speaker in industry events.

Daphne holds a BA in Gerontology, M.Ed in Adult Education, a diploma in Health Sciences specializing in Therapeutic Recreation, and is certified for Dementia Care Mapping from the trailblazing Bradford University in the UK.

She has previously been a board member of the provincial chapter and national federation of the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
